Once you account for all KP sources – hourly KPs, tournament rewards, map encounters, some special buildings and AWs, crafting – you realize that there are only so many KPs you can acquire daily.

So with the disclaimer on different objectives out of the way, what does it mean – the fastest progression? In this context, this basically means that your limiting factor is KP accumulation over time. So let’s take a look at KP requirements first, shall we? KP Rate as Progression Limit At the top level, it is two things – KPs to complete research items, and resources that are needed to activate them. So let’s take a look at what is required to complete the chapter. But if your objectives are different (esthetics, rank, compactness etc) our strategies might not be optimal for you! There are A LOT of people that will play through 20, 30 provinces or more for two rounds and then stop or very much cut back. You can't assess what scores everyone is on, or will get, by looking at the leaderboard after everyone has played two rounds. That all said, there is a little problem with your assumptions. I'm not sure what the post is driving at. like a League Two team winning the FA Cup. but I was a small player and was punching above my weight.

In the end I just about managed to beat what the end level players can do week in week out. I won my first tournament when I was in chapter 5 because I wanted to see that it was possible to do, but it took 3 or 4 weeks saving goods and troops and it took a lot of tactical overexploring. People who have been playing longer have bigger cities, more resources and are able to get more points in tournaments. I've never questioned that fact or thought that it was weird. Bigger players can score more points in tournaments. I'm not really sure what the problem is here.
